Most Panamanian marinas don't publish prices. The ones that do give a useful range. Marina Carenero in Bocas charges $12 per foot per month for a monohull (July 2026). Panamarina near Portobelo charges $0.29–0.44 per foot per day on a mooring. La Playita in Panama City was about $80 a night in early 2025. Add 7% ITBMS to all of them.
How Panamanian marinas charge
Rates are almost always quoted per foot of length overall (LOA), including pulpits and davits. They come per day, per week, per month or per year. Longer stays get cheaper per foot, and catamarans pay a premium because they take more dock space. Many marinas set a minimum billable length. La Playita's is 40 ft.
On top of the slip you usually pay 7% ITBMS, the national sales tax collected by the DGI, plus metered electricity and water. Some marinas also charge for liveaboard status, dinghy-dock access or commercial use if you take paying guests. Before you compare two quotes, ask whether each one includes tax and power.
Panama City is the most expensive place to keep a boat. Flamenco, Ocean Reef, the Club de Yates y Pesca and Vista Mar quote on request only. So do Bocas Marina, Red Frog and Marina Boca Chica. For those, this page can only tell you what to ask.
Every published slip and mooring rate we could find
These rates were taken from each marina's own rate card or from a labelled secondary source. Each marina page has the full card.
| Marina | Published rate | Basis | Source and date |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marina Carenero | $12 monohull, $15 catamaran, $14 over 60 ft; annual prepaid $10 / $12 | Per foot per month, plus 7% tax | Marina rate card, new rates from July 2026 |
| Marina Carenero | $0.75 monohull, $1.00 catamaran, $1.50 over 60 ft | Per foot per day | Marina rate card, July 2026 |
| Panamarina | Mooring $0.44 (1–7 days), $0.32 (30–180 days), $0.29 (over 181 days); multihull $0.51 / $0.39 / $0.34 | Per foot per day, excl. 7% ITBMS | Marina price list, as shown October 2026 |
| La Playita de Amador | About $80 per night, 40 ft minimum | Transient slip | Noonsite (secondary), early 2025 |
| Shelter Bay Marina | From $0.45 monohull, $0.58 multihull | Per foot; billing unit not stated | Marina site, October 2026 |
| Linton Bay Marina | About $0.47 monohull, $0.63 catamaran; monthly about $0.30 / $0.40 | Per foot per day | Noonsite (secondary), 2016: out of date |
Shelter Bay's site doesn't say whether its starting rate is per day, so ask. The Linton Bay figures are ten years old and only show the shape of the pricing. They are not a quote.
Noonsite also listed Mara'naa Las Perlas Marina on Isla Viveros at $45 a day up to 40 ft and $65 up to 60 ft. It is a small marina that was still under construction. See Las Perlas anchorages.
Anchoring and dinghy-dock fees
Anchoring is the cheap option, but rarely free once you need to get ashore.
- La Playita anchorage: no fee reported for the anchorage itself. The dinghy dock was about $35 a week in 2019, and the week is counted from the day you pay.
- Las Brisas de Amador: Noonsite (2022) describes a free dinghy dock for loading and unloading only.
- Linton Bay: dinghy dock about $3 a day or $30 a month (Noonsite, 2016).
- Shelter Bay: boats anchored outside reported paying about $25 a day for dock, pool and shower access.
Decreto Ejecutivo 4 of 2025 tells the AMP to set the anchoring areas and their tariffs. It also lets foreign yachts on nautical-tourism stays of up to a year be exempt from arrival and anchoring charges. We could not find a published AMP anchoring tariff, so confirm with the AMP. See anchoring and moorings in Panama.
Dry storage, yard days and haul-outs
Panamarina is the only marina that publishes a full yard tariff. Its rates are in US dollars per foot per day, excluding ITBMS:
- Dry storage: $0.39 monohull and $0.54 multihull for 1–90 days, falling to $0.32 and $0.47 for stays over 181 days.
- Working boatyard: $0.52 monohull and $0.68 multihull per day.
- Haul-out and launch: $10.03 per foot for a monohull, $12.54 for a multihull.
Shelter Bay, Linton Bay and Vista Mar all store boats on the hard and quote on request. Vista Mar's trailer haul-out should be priced in writing. See dry storage vs wet slip and haul-out yards in Panama.
Electricity and water
Utilities can add a lot, especially if you run air conditioning in a Panamanian summer. The published figures:
- Marina Carenero: electricity $0.30 per kWh. Filtered rainwater $0.10 a gallon; unfiltered water free.
- Panamarina yard: power $1.50 a day, or $3.00 with air conditioning. Water $0.03 per litre.
- La Playita: water about 5 cents a gallon, by reservation.
- Vista Mar: owner reviews mention about $70 a month of power for an air-conditioned boat. That is not a marina figure.
Worked example: a 40 ft monohull for one month
Using only the published rates, before power and water:
- Panamarina mooring (30–180-day rate): $0.32 × 40 ft × 30 days = $384, plus $26.88 ITBMS = $410.88.
- Marina Carenero slip (monthly): $12 × 40 ft = $480, plus $33.60 tax = $513.60. The annual prepaid rate brings the slip to $400 a month.
- La Playita at the nightly rate: $80 × 30 = $2,400. Few people pay nightly for a month, so ask for a monthly rate.

Your practical starting checklist
- Measure the boat's real LOA, including pulpits, davits and the swim platform.
- Shortlist marinas by coast and use, then start from the published rates on this page.
- Email for a written quote covering the slip, power, water, ITBMS and any minimum length.
- Ask about monthly, seasonal and prepaid annual rates, and whether a deposit is refundable.
- Add anchoring, dinghy-dock or haul-out costs if you will use them.
- Re-check the rate card every season, because Panamanian marinas change rates without much notice.
